“Customs Consulting” is a joint project by Deliver Journal and the “Puchkov.net” internet portal, designed for those who have to deal with the Russian customs.
The customs procedure rules are stated in Russian in black and white. However, no one completely understands them. The customs officials and brokers, as well as the participants of the foreign trade industry all interpret these rules differently. How to avoid losses when dealing with the system of customs rules?
On our website you will find free online consultation regarding the customs legislation in Russia from an experienced professional customs officer - Major General Alexander Mikhaylovich Puchkov.
If you didn’t find the answer to your problem in the section, ask your question, and the answer will be sent to your email address.

Question: Our company repairs woodworking equipment (saws, cutters, etc.). Sometimes we can not do it in Russia and send the equipment to Finland. Declaring the equipment for temporary export is a very long and intensive procedure. Are there any other alternatives?
Answer: Declaring for temporary export is the only feasible alternative in this case. You could bring the instruments out of the country and bring them back as your own personal belongings. However, in this case you will have a lot of expenses for the trip, and it won’t be easy to convince the customs official that these are your own instruments. In addition to that you would have to wait for the instruments to be repaired. I would advise you to look for a good customs broker who can declare for temporary export quickly. Íàâåðõ
